The Story and Mission of the CI Assante CMM Foundation

At the heart of our foundation lies a simple belief: by giving back to our community, we help build a stronger and more compassionate future. Our mission focuses on supporting those who need it most — from children facing difficult circumstances to individuals and families affected by cancer or Alzheimer’s disease. We are committed to reinvesting in causes close to our hearts, creating meaningful change where it matters most.

Through our support of organizations such as the Canadian Children’s Foundation, the Cedars Cancer Foundation, the Alzheimer Society of Canada, and the Stanstead College Foundation, we aim to improve lives, foster resilience, and empower the next generation of changemakers. Whether by providing care, access, or opportunities, our goal is to support the people and programs shaping a better tomorrow.

Stanstead College Foundation

The Stanstead College Foundation’s mission is to enhance the student experience through scholarships and the enrichment of academic and extracurricular programs. Founded in 1870, Stanstead College equips students to embrace innovation in an ever-evolving world, all within a close-knit yet globally-minded community. By enriching both academic and extracurricular programs, students have the opportunity to explore a wide range of fields — from music and theater to science and mathematics. This foundation exposes the next generation to limitless opportunities, fostering innovation and confidence in tomorrow’s leaders.

Stanstead College and its tight-knit community played a pivotal role in shaping who I am today. It was there that I built not only my academic foundation and athletic discipline, but also the core values that continue to guide me — integrity, perseverance, and respect.

This journey was profoundly influenced by my mother, Linda Watkins, whose dedication and support made it all possible. Her example continues to inspire my commitment to giving back and supporting the next generation. Stanstead instills in its students the mindset needed to thrive — as individuals, professionals, and future entrepreneurs. The school fosters resilience, ambition, and a strong sense of purpose, qualities that have been essential in my own path. Alzheimer Society

Founded in 1978, the Alzheimer Society’s mission is to lessen the personal and social impact of Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia, while promoting research into their causes, treatments, and a potential cure. The Society supports individuals living with dementia by raising funds, increasing public awareness, and implementing initiatives tailored to those affected. These initiatives align with their mission to mitigate the social effects of dementia and allow those impacted to share their experiences. Through the Alzheimer Society Research Program, they have supported innovative research across Canada, aiming to improve the quality of life for people living with dementia worldwide.

Co-Founder of CI Assante CMM, Maxime brings over 15 years of experience in finance and wealth management. A holder of the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designation, he is distinguished by his deep expertise in portfolio management, financial strategy, and philanthropic planning.

He advises a select clientele of entrepreneurs, executives, and high-profile individuals, delivering structured and disciplined solutions tailored to complex financial environments.

Coming from a family of entrepreneurs, Maxime developed early on a strong professional discipline as well as a strategic understanding of the challenges related to business management, growth, and long-term continuity. His career has earned him several distinctions, including recognition in the Top 40 Under 40 and the prestigious Chairman Elite title at Assante.

Today, he combines institutional rigor, strategic vision, and long-term commitment, with a constant focus on creating sustainable and responsible value for his clients.

Alzheimer’s disease has touched my family: my grandfather passed away from it, and today, my mother and I live with the lingering fear that it may be hereditary. As a father, the thought of one day forgetting my son — his voice, his laughter, our shared memories — is profoundly painful. Losing cognitive abilities robs a person of their identity, their connection with loved ones, and their independence. It is one of the most devastating challenges a human being can face.

Supporting this foundation is deeply personal to me. It means advancing research, giving families tools to slow the progression of the disease, and building a future filled with hope rather than helplessness. I want to be part of the solution — for my family and for millions of others. Together, we can fight this disease before it takes another memory, another name, another life.

Cedars Cancer Foundation

Founded in 1966, the Cedars Cancer Foundation is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of cancer patients — children, young adults, and adults — as well as their families, during and after treatment. Today, Cedars is the primary funding source supporting the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) in its fight against cancer. The Foundation focuses on three key pillars: compassionate care, innovative research, and inspiring education. It provides psychological and practical support to patients and their loved ones. Through the MUHC Cancer Research Program and support for the next generation of healthcare professionals, Cedars fosters research to find a cure while ensuring a lasting legacy of expertise in cancer care.

Actively involved in the design and execution of investment strategies, Nick approaches wealth management with structure, precision, and intellectual clarity. His philosophy centers on delivering coherence and long-term confidence through disciplined decision-making.

Approximately 2 in 5 Canadians will develop cancer in their lifetime, and almost everyone knows someone dear who has faced this battle. This cause is deeply meaningful to me and my family.

My mother, Lizanne, was diagnosed with cancer when I was very young and courageously fought for 10 years, always surrounded by love, friends, and family. During that time, the emotional and practical support we received from the community made an incredible difference. Whether it was help with meals, a kind word, or simply being there, it gave us strength and peace in the most challenging moments. I will never forget that impact — and today, I hope to pay it forward by helping others experience the same comfort, care, and hope.

Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation

Launched in 2000, the Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation is dedicated to promoting physical activity and healthy lifestyles among underprivileged youth aged 4 to 17. The Foundation operates in two main ways: through its BLEU BLANC ROUGE initiative, which builds multi-sport rinks, and by providing financial support to organizations that help children become more active and adopt healthier habits. Since its inception, the Foundation has invested over $45 million in its mission, continuing to transform the lives of children across Quebec.

As Senior Wealth Advisor and Vice President of Operations for the team, Kristopher plays a pivotal role both in guiding families and in strengthening the organization’s operational structure. He advises affluent clients through the most important financial decisions of their lives, taking a disciplined, transparent, and action-oriented approach.

With over a decade of experience in the financial sector, he is recognized for his ability to transform complexity into clear, executable strategies. A graduate of the John Molson School of Business, Kristopher first competed at the highest level of university athletics with the Concordia Stingers before pursuing a three-year professional career in the Canadian Football League. This competitive path instilled in him a strong sense of discipline, natural leadership, and a performance-driven mindset that he brings to his professional practice.

He began his investment career within major financial institutions, including TD Bank and Manulife Investments, where he developed solid expertise in asset management, portfolio construction, and strategic financial planning.

A holder of the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®) designation, Kristopher later adopted an integrated approach to wealth management at Assante CMM.
